2. Affordable from where? Egypt and Turkey are very much affordable for a European couple, while for an American or Australian the cost of the flight is bound to be a bit much. It also depends upon the level of comfort you want. It is possible to travel in say, Northern India with a budget of no more than 15 USD per day and person, but at this rate you won't be staying in any 5-star hotels.
