Affordable Honeymoon Packages

Honeymoons? where to go where its not to expensive!?

We are planning to go on our honeymoon from the first week of may, the trouble is deciding where to go. You see i've got my heart set on the maldives but i know we just cant afford it so we are just having trouble finding somewhere beautiful that dodoesn'tave children around or loads of singles running around getting drunk that isisn'toing to get me in total debt. Please help. We want to go somewhere out of the UK, I'm from wales anyway and have travelled around the country a lot because I used to work in childrens holiday parks like haven. We dont really want to go anyway like africa or brazil or cuba (just because i recieved a call where i work from a young girl whose husband was murdered while out there) and its just terrified me if i'm honest.

  1. omg. the maldives is soooo georgous! but, yes way expensive! i'm guessing you want something somewhat secluded/private? what about staying at a sandals resort. i know sandals is super touristy, but they have private villas (in ocho rios, jamaica) that have you own private pool/jacuzzi. that's where we're going. it's only $2000 for 5 nights in our private villa. other than that, i would suggest st. lucia, and not nassau.
  2. So you definitely want to fly somewhere? The truth is, you can have a ton of fun if you consider going to your favorite city nearby and using the money you would have spent on airfaire to upgrade your hotel you stay at or something. My husband and I went and spent a week in downtown Chicago, seeing the sights (taking advantage of free museum admission days, etc.), enjoying the sunshine and the tourist spots, and we told places it was our honeymoon and they upgraded our hotel room for free and we got champagne and desserts on the house at each restaurant we went to-just because we said we had just gotten married. It was a great time, and we spent even less than we had budgetted, because we saved the money on travelling somewhere far. We figure maybe we'll go somewhere more tropical for our 5 year anniversary or something-save up slowly and then we can really indulge then. Otherwise, set a budget, and then maybe go talk to a travel agent. They can sometimes get you some wonderful packages that you didn't realize were out there...But set a ceiling and stick to it.
  3. We wne to a plkce in Kenya called Turtle Bay. No kids, place is gorgeous plenty to do (unlike the Maldives). It cost the same as going to spain for 2 weeks
  4. Have you considered bits of the UK. If you want sun and beach then go abroad, but there are beautiful parts of the UK - Scotland, Yorkshire, the Lake District, etc. What do you want from your honeymoon? It's different from other holidays - so perhaps consider making it very different rather than more of the same. Save the grand locations for five years in.
  5. I AGREE WITH MRS SANDALS IS THE WAY TO GO ME AND MY HUSBAND WENT A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO AND WE LOVED IT. NO KIDS OR SINGLES ARE AT THE RESORTS AND THEY HAVE ALOT OF THINGS TO DO ON THE PREMISES THAT YOU DONT HAVE TO PAY FOR ALL THE FOOD AND DRINKS (ALCOHOL AND NON) YOU WANT ARE INCLUDED AND SO ARE THE TIPS. IF YOU GO THERE GET A HUMMINGBIRD DRINK THEY MAKE THE BEST ONES.
  6. The Lake district is beautiful or you could try south or south west Ireland. Here's something you might like to have a look at but don't show it to the best man! It's a bit slow to start but then it's hilarious! I don't know how the groom didn't have a heart attack! www.freakybestmanspeech.com
  7. Mozambique is beautiful and much cheaper than the maldives. Don't know if it is cheaper, but how about Mauritius? Looks absolutely beautiful. It would be very much like the maldives. You could also do a greek islands cruise, those are meant to be romantic.
  8. were going to the cape verde islands, thomson do great offeres all inclusive at rui hotel for around £500 its hot and has beaches which match the caribbean, its off west Africa goodluck x
  9. we went to valencia and it was gorgeous. Lots to see and do and not overly expensive if you shop around.
  10. before i make any suggestions, i would say that you wont get very far if you let things like murders stop you. people get murdered every single day all over the world but yet thousands of people still jet off on holiday and make it back safely. People in wales get murdered but you still live there. You can look for adult only hotels in almost every country you would consider going to. mexico is very nice, so is the domincan republic. the dominican republic is the cheapest place in the caribbean to visit. if your scared then stay where you know....the UK. your honeymoon is what you make it.
  11. If you have to stay in the UK why not got to Isla in Scotland or somewhere like that? By the time you've paid for a decent hotel, champagne and travel etc. you could have gone somewhere hot! I recently went to Bali and stayed at Ellie's Hotel in Nusa Dua. It was AMAZING and seriously cheap. You could get a room for £26 per night B+B and they do a discount for several nights. I was at the hotel for 3 weeks in the summer and the place blew me away. Its run by 2 brits and I couldn't think of anywhere nicer to go on a honeymoon. Its only a 2-3 star hotel but its like a 5 star place just without an iron in your room! Check out their website before you rule out going abroad. You could both fly there, have a 2 week stay with B+B and eat out well for about £2100 I recon. Tripadvisor.com has many great reviews on the place. Good Luck!
