Can you recommend travel insurance agency for honeymoons? Flight insurance doesn't cover hurricanes in Oct.
We're traveling to Canouan Island and Barbados in the first few weeks of October and we're routing through Miami. If travel insurance covers poor weather delays / cancellations, we would like to know where to get it so if we have to re-plan, we can without a major financial loss.

- the best place is in the airport itself..they have list and companies for every flights. or you can ask your travel agency...if they don't cover insurance for hurricanes.. you might change your schedules,, or try the other route.. hope this helps..happy trip!
- try travelguard
- TravelGuard is the industry leader. Go to http://www.wavehelp.com/travel-medical/index.htm and click on the little red phone booth next to TravelGuard. They have a nice variety of plans. I like "Worldwide Health" because it provides really good medical coverage as well as trip cancellation and delay coverage but their "ProtectAssist" is also good and might save you a little in premium cost. A honeymoon trip to the Carribean in October sounds fabulous. Don't forget your camera and sunscreen. Best wishes.
- Travel insurance can cover trip cancellation, trip interruption or travel delays. Here's a great page for you to learn about Bad Weather and Natural Disaster Coverage: http://tripinsurancestore.com/3/bad-weather.shtml Steve
- If you are going out of the country and/or if you are traveling where you have to make several connections, like from a plane to a ship, or a plane to a train, its good to have insurance, especially if you are on a tight schedule. . When you are making connections, especially multiple ones, the chances of you missing one may go up due to things like the weather, number of people traveling (i.e., on a holiday), or unexpected delays. The chances of luggage being lost or delays also goes up. You can shop online for insurance (site below). I always use Travelux and find them reasonably priced. We have done more than a dozen cruises and we usually only buy insurance when we are leaving from a port outside the US. I have included a web site where you can shop for travel insurance. These insurance brokers generally cover everything from missed flight or ship connections to medical problems, to terrorism. Last year we went on a Mediterranean cruise out of Barcelona, Spain and we purchased insurance (not through the cruise line) because there were several points where we could miss a flight, train, or ship and/or lose luggage. We recently went on a cruise to the Baltic out of Dover, England and we bought travel insurance and it paid off. The cruise was forced to come back to a port other than Dover because of bad weather and I ended up filing a claim for missed train connections. The insurance I bought covered the flight, trains and cruise for one price. Shop before you buy.
- When purchasing travel protection insurance make absolutely sure you purchase a policy that will allow you to cancel for any reason. Many policies don't cover that. You can compare policies at this site. http://insuremytrip.com Cheryl
