What are some good ways to stay organized during the holidays?
What are some good ways to stay organized (and sane!) with all the craziness and business of the holidays?

- Simplify, and start early. -Decide what is really important to you for the holidays, and dump the rest. You don't have to go to every party or visit every sale or decorate every room. Just focus on the things you love most, and toss the rest or save it for another year. -Make your lists early. Start writing Christmas cards while you're eating turkey leftovers. Decide what you're buying for each person BEFORE you go shopping. Write down all the ingredients for your holiday feast, and buy it all at once instead of running out at the last minute. As you unpack boxes of stuff, take quick photos and mark the contents on the side of each box, for easy repacking after the holidays.
- When you buy a present, wrap it! That way you don't have a pile of gifts to wrap at one time. Do as much of your holiday baking that you can ahead of time. Freeze them and then pull them out during the holiday. Take along your Christmas cards so that you can address them while you are waiting for appts. (i.e. doctors, dentist, etc)
- Check out flylady.net. They've got a great holiday control journal and a yahoogroup that sends out daily emails that makes it easy to get organized.
- i make lists... of people i need to buy for and when i go shopping i add to the list what i have bought .. that way the next time i go shopping i dont have to try and remember what i got for who... its all written down. and i wrap presents as i buy them so i dont have a huge mess of presents to wrap come christmas eve. and i started christmas shopping in october.. a few things here a few things there... so i dont have every one to shop for come crunch time.. good luck
